3 Winter Camping spots near Vancouver.


1)Panorama Ridge is located in Garibaldi Provincial Park. Enjoy views of Garibaldi Lake and the surrounding Peaks. Note: there is no source of water here- make sure to pack extra!

Difficulty: Difficult
Distance:30 KM

Time: 11 hours round trip. Plan for 7-8 hours to reach camping spot.
Elevation gain: 1520 M

2)Needle Peak Ridge is located off of the Coquihalla Highway. It is a very steep hike up to the ridge where you will find breath taking views of surrounding mountains.

Distance:13 KM

Time: 7-8 hours roundtrip
Elevation gain: 855 M

3)Elfin Lakes are two small lakes located in Garibaldi Provincial Park. It is a relatively moderate hike where you will be able to enjoy  views of the lakes and the surrounding area.

Difficulty: Moderate
Distance:22 KM

Time: 6-8 hours round trip. 
Elevation gain: 600 M

Recommended Gear (on-top of all necessary camping equipment):

1: Ten Essentials: Headlamp, Compass, Whistle, First Aid Supplies, Fire Starter, Emergency Blanket & Knife.

2: Required Clothing: Hiking backpack, Hiking boots, warm clothing (sweat resistant), gloves, toque, waterproof jacket.

3: Assorted Personal Items: Any medication your require, Extra Dry Clothing, Cell Phone, Sunscreen, Bug Repellent, Trekking Poles, Hand Sanitizer, Camera, Binoculars.
